Privacy Policy

Ready for Linux is designed to collect only what is needed to generate and improve compatibility recommendations.

  • We store quiz inputs, recommendation outputs, and optional feedback submissions.
  • If you submit a Linux-ready community report, we may store the hardware/workload details you provide, your optional notes, whether you chose public sharing, and limited anti-abuse signals such as hashed client identifiers or rate-limit data.
  • Stored quiz data can include structured answers plus raw text you submit (for example app names, game names, laptop model, and peripheral notes).
  • We use Plausible Analytics for privacy-friendly traffic measurement. Plausible may process aggregate usage signals such as page views, referrer, browser, operating system, device type, and country-level location.
  • We store recent result links locally in your browser (localStorage) so you can reopen results later on the same device.
  • Result links are shareable URLs. Anyone with the full link can view that result page.
  • We do not require an account for core quiz usage.
  • Data is used to improve recommendation quality, blocker coverage, and confidence explanations.
  • Exact hardware/software outcomes may vary; submitted data may be reviewed manually for quality control.
  • Public community reports are intended to help other people evaluate Linux compatibility. Treat report content as potentially visible to others if you choose to share it publicly.
  • Data is currently retained for product improvement and troubleshooting unless manually removed. For deletion/privacy requests, use the project issue tracker or the project’s primary support channel listed on Help.
